Thanks Kindly & Festive Friday Challenge #FF0004

#soinkingsweet, #handmade, #thesweetinker, #tonyadenton, #handstampedcard, #thankskindly, #festivefridaychallenge

I hope you love my card as much as I do! I knew I wanted choose ‘flowers’ for this Festive Friday Challenge but other than that, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do. I think the best thing to do is just to start with one or two things in mind and work my way from there when creating a card. I knew I needed a ‘Thank You’ sentiment and I knew I wanted to create a Daisy flower. I fell in love with the Delightful Daisy DSP and knew I had to have it along with the Daisy Delight Stamp Set and the Daisy Punch! Don’t you just LOVE these items?! If you do, make sure you order all three before the new Annual Catalog comes out at the beginning of June! I hope the stamp set and punch carries over into the new catalog but just in case, don’t miss out on these items if you think you may want them.

The “Thanks kindly” sentiment is from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set. It has seven different ‘Thank You’ sentiments, which is great! I also used the Petal Garden DSP Stack which is AWESOME! I absolutely love, love, love all the floral patterns in that 6 x 6 stack of papers. I actually used the backside one to get that little tid bit of stitched look peeping out from under the Delightful Daisy DSP. Can you see it?! Perhaps you will in the next close up image of the Daisy flower.

What really makes this Daisy flower come alive is the fact I used Stampin’ Up!’s NEW Stampin’ Blends! They are premier alcohol markers with dual-tips. Right now there are 12 exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors, each with a light and a dark shade as well as ivory, bronze, and a color lifter. LOVE ‘EM! I stamped the flower twice with the Calypso Coral Ink Pad so I could punch out two flowers. Then I colored my flowers in with the light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend. I went back over the inside of the petal leaves with the light Calypso Coral to give my petals a bit more depth. Then to top it off, I added that BEAUTIFUL Gold Faceted Gem in the center to really add beauty to my flower. Did I already tell you how much I LOVED my card?!

Stampin’ Up! News:
BTW the new Stampin’ Up! Stampin Blends have been so popular (debuted in the Occasion Catalog), that Stampin’ Up! had a difficult time maintaining an adequate supple of them due to some unexpected challenges from the supplier’s end. Instead of continually having them on backorder, Stampin’ Up! made a difficult decision to make our entire Stampin’ Blends product line unorderable at this time until approximately the end of May.
Please leave me a comment and tell me what you love best about my card. What product(s) do you love most? If you have any questions, please contact me! Until next time, have a Beautiful & Blessed Day!

When my dear sister-in-law (my hubby’s sister, Denise) emailed and asked for my help to design a Thank You card, I was honored for two reasons.

First reason, I felt it was a compliment. To be asked to help design a card must mean that I’m doing something right! Anyone can CASE (COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING) a card or change up a few things to call it their own. I really try to come up with my own designs for the most part. If I do CASE a card, I will definitely give credit where credit is due.

Second reason, the Thank You cards are to go to two people who helped make it possible for Denise to receive her daughter’s diploma from the University of Illinois. Why is that a big deal? Her daughter, Caitlin, committed suicide nearly a year ago come next month in March. She was about to turn 21 last April and graduate from college. She had her whole life ahead of her. None of it made sense, it never does for those of us who are left behind. Heartbreak is an understatement! Suicide is a real problem! The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention ( is the nation’s largest non-profit dedicated to saving and bringing hope to those affected by suicide. If you know of someone who could benefit from learning more about suicide, donating, or getting support; please give them this information. It could make all the difference in the world!

After I made my first card, I decided to design two more cards (see below). The one with the blue card base I have a booboo! You can see a hairline of blue up at the top of the card. No problem, I’ll be making that one again in the future! I wanted to use the school colors for the University of Illinois since the two individuals receiving them are part of the University personnel. Thank goodness I found the RGB codes for the shade of blue. I had to go back to Midnight Muse from the 2012-2014 In Colors! It was a VERY close match!! WooHoo! The ribbon is retired as well, but you can recreate this card using ANY COLOR and different ribbon!

I have four pearls on the card on the left. Can you see them in the floral cutout? My name is covering one of them. I also have one in the curly “y” in the word “kindly”. I used pearls on all three cards. I wanted the cards to be classy yet elegant. Denise loved them all! This is what she had to say, “I can’t thank you enough for helping me. These are exactly what I was hoping for, but so much prettier than I could actually do.” She chose the two cards with the white card base! I did a poll. My hubby likes the one with the Midnight Muse card base. My daughter, Tenaya, likes the first one (at top) I made. Which one do you like?

SUPPLIES: You’ll need to pick out a different color of blue/ribbon than I used.

Thank You Cards Dressed in Polka Dots!

These cards are SO EASY to make!! Before I continue, I have to share the fact that I was inspired by a fellow demonstrator’s post who was also inspired by someone else who gave her a card. See how it works? We all inspire each other when it comes to creativity and support. I like to give credit where credit is due so be sure to check out Jessica Taylor at I love the simplicity of Jessica’s cards which is right up my ally! I think most of us like simplicity with a bit of WOW to our cards!

I have about a dozen demonstrators that I follow and believe me, I’m a “little fish” in the Stampin’ Up! world compared to these demonstrators! I’m thankful for the inspiration I receive by simply being a “follower”. I learn so much from others. Basically you could call my cards CASEd today. What is CASEd? This means you are not recreating someone’s card in its entirety . . . you are taking one or more elements (colors, layout, stamp set, embellishments, technique) and creating your own card with that inspiration. My cards today are the latter . . .

Paper Sizes:
Whisper White: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
Polka Dot Paper: 3-3/4″ x 5″
Whisper White card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″

Supply List

The first card with the bigger dots and the “Thank You” stamped in Black was made from retired Polka Dots Designer Series Paper. I used Pumpkin Pie. Other colors in that set includes Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Real Red, and Rich Razzelberry. So if you have these papers, use them!! I also used a Basic Pearl in the little black punched center of the flower. That punch is retired but you could use the little flower from the Tree Builder.

The second card with the little dots and the “Thank You” stamped in orange was made from retired Designer Series Paper in Tangerine Tango.

I don’t have ALL the current items to show case on my blog! I’ve been a Hobbyist Demonstrator for several years but started buying Stampin’ Up! products starting in 2008. Although I would LOVE to use ALL CURRENT products, sometimes I may have to use something I have on head and make substitution suggestions as I have in the supplies. i.e. Brights Designer Series Paper!

A Thank You Card with FMS 220 Challenge!

I’m just flying by the seat of my pants here to meet the deadline for this card sketch challenge! I needed Thank You card to send to someone for a Christmas gift that my husband and I received for Christmas. I know, I’m a bit behind on this endeavor but better late than never! I hope you notice the different sized pearls for the different sized little flowers. I hope you DON’T notice the little bit of Cherry Cobbler ink from my fingers on the side of my card! LOL! It never fails when I use that color, I get it on my fingers. It was from placing the pearls on the card and I knew better than not to clean my fingers before continuing on to photograph my card. It’s just a clean and simple card following the card sketch challenge. Perhaps my sentiment should’ve been a bit smaller. I don’t know . . . but here it is! Enjoy and “Thank You” for stopping by!

2016.1.25 Thank You Card FMS220

I used the Botanicals For You CM (Clear Mount) from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure that I got for FREE when I spent $50 dollars on Stampin’ Up! products. It’s a SWEET DEAL for sure!!

Here are the supplies I used to make this quick Thank You card!

A Colorful Thank You with PPA275

I have never taken an art class. I have never said that I was artistic. With that being said, I do try to tap into some creativity using card challenges! Pals Paper Arts has a color challenge using the colors Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, and Tangelo Twist! I LOVE these bright, cheerful, and even playful colors! I needed a Thank You card so this is what I came up with implementing these colors.

It’s very simple yet this was my second card. Did I get it perfect? NOPE! My first card, I stamped the sentiment in the middle then I decided to stamp the bottom as you see it here. Then my sentiment was too low. My second attempt, I decided to do the playful border on the top and bottom. I didn’t get the top border exactly perfect. Then I stamped the sentiment last. I went with it! LOL! Is it a masterpiece? No. What counts is that I am able to participate in this color challenge! 🙂

Here is the Pals Paper Arts color challenge . . .

FYI: I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the sentiment Thank You to have the three colors. After I colored the letters, I then “huffed” upon the letters to allow the ink to become moist again before stamping.

Here are the supplies that I used to make my card . . .
