Fresh As A Daisy Thank You Card

Stampin’ Up! has really great Designer Series Papers (DSP) that truly enhances any crafting project, such as creating cards, scrapbook pages, and 3-D projects. I chose Fresh As A Daisy DSP to start out my layout f rom Freshly Made Sketches, another great layout challenge!

Putting It All Together

First I used an Ink Pad Color Drag Technique (that’s what I call it, see images below) on Basic White cardstock for my die cut pieces from the Cheerful Daisies Dies set. This is a fun technique and I haven’t done it in some time. I used Crushed Curry and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Pads, which gave me hues of green in some areas. That was fine because I matted my three flowers with solid Lost Lagoon cardstock die cuts. Once I had completed this technique step, I arranged my die cuts on the patterned paper. Pay attention to your pattern and how best to layout certain pieces. I wanted the large swipe of Lost Lagoon for the center of my large daisy.

Secondly I used my Clear Wink of Stella Brush and applied the clear glitter all over my die cut pieces, except any die cut piece that has been cut from Lost Lagoon cardstock. Once the daisy flower pieces are dry, I double matted them with another layer of the Ink Pad Color Drag Technique pattern cardstock before adhering to the coordinating solid Lost Lagoon die cuts. Once all the die cutting has been accomplished, glitter is dry, and daisies have been matted; it’s time to assemble the card.

Final step is to assemble everything! My card inspiration started with Freshly Made Sketches layout and then I chose the striped patterned DSP paper from Fresh As A Daisy 12″ x 12″ DSP. Click HERE to see every beautiful pattern in this paper pack!

Basis White cardstock is the base for my card. Adhere the next two pieces to the Lost Lagoon panel BEFORE adhering to the card base. Emboss the Thank You sentiment from Inked & Tile Cling Stamp Set. I adhered the striped patterned paper to the top and an embossed solid Crushed Curry on the bottom. Then used the retired Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder but you can use Timber 3D Embossing Folder that is a current Stampin’ Up! product instead. There are two ways you can emboss the Thank you. I stamped my sentiment a couple of times with Memento Tuxedo Black (I use a stamping tool) then I stamped it once agin with VersaMark. Then added Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and applied heat with my Heat Tool. You can also just stamp the sentiment using Versa Mark then add Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set. Either way works!

Next add a strip of Lost Lagoon 1/4″ Bordered Ribbon across the middle of the card and secure ends around backside of panel(s). Now adhere the panel(s) to the card base and begin arranging die cut pieces. I cheated and used a little bit of double stick tape for the bottom of the leaves and thin branchy looking what ever they’re called! LOL! NOTICE that I cut apart the die cut pieces that formed the three daisies and the two leaves. I popped up the daisy flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My card just kept evolving and I’m really happy with my end result. It wasn’t my intention to start with but I’m so happy that I decided to matt my daisies using Lost Lagoon. You can’t see the glitter shining in my card below but believe me, it shines!
