My Reasons to Craft | CASEing | Stampin’ Up!’s Blog

My reasons to craft are many but let me start with showing gratitude towards others. Saying thank you with a card gives me pleasure in showing my gratitude for whatever the reason may be. Plus who doesn’t love getting HAPPY MAIL! If I had all of your addresses, I’d send you all a card to show my appreciation for subscribing to my blog. If you are a current subscriber, I’d love to send you a card! Just email your address to me and then receive a card to keep or to send on to someone else to put a smile on their face!

I’m sure you may have noticed, or not, that I’ve not really been blogging or even on social media for the past several months or so. I needed a hiatus for personal reasons. I want to say thank you for hanging in here with me! I’m hoping to start FRESH again (so to speak) and continue to provide INSPIRATION and help keep you UPDATED with the LATEST NEWS from Stampin’ Up!, whether it’s about new product releases, discounts, last chance products or whatever the current news may be. Stay tune because another change is coming in April and the New 2025-2026 Annual Catalog is just around the corner!

CASEing ~ Copy And Share Everything

Although I love to design my own cards, sometimes I may want to CASE a card. If and when I do CASE from someone else’s work, I always give credit where credit is due. Plus it’s the right thing to do and to acknowledge that person’s work. Some have told me they are not creative enough to make cards or to scrapbook. You don’t need to be when there is so much inspiration to help you to be creative! Not to mention all the coordinating products that Stampin’ Up! offers to help make it easy for us all to be creative.

The main card for today’s post has been CASED from Stampin’ Up!’s blog with one minor change, I used Blueberry Bushel instead of Pretty Peacock. Click HERE to see the original blog card! The other colors used are Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry. The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark and Heat Embossed with White Embossing Powder to give it that extra something special! The sentiment is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Simple yet pretty! Visit my Online Store for all the different colors to choose from for Classic Stampin’ Inks and coordinating cardstock available to use!

When I created my cards this past week, I didn’t realize that the Simply Zinnia Cling Stamp Set was no longer available. It was an Online Exclusive stamp set. That’s a bummer! No worries though! You can use just about any stamp or sentiment to recreate this card layout. I used Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia for these two cards. Cardstock measurements are listed below! BTW, I use the Multipurpose Glue for easier positioning of these square pieces.

I’ll admit it’s a bit of a challenge toggling back and forth between the products in the physical catalog and the Online Exclusive products. The bright side of having Online Exclusives, it’s updated with NEW PRODUCTS every two months! Keep flipping through the catalogs but don’t forget about all the amazing online only products, including the Kits Collection and Paper Pumpkin.

Cardstock Measurements

  • Blueberry Bushel card base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ | scored at 4-1/4″
  • Blueberry Bushel front panel: 5-1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic White CS: 6 squares | 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″
  • Pumpkin Pie CS sentiment label: 3-1/2″ x 1″

Stampin’ Up!’s Blog

I’ll be the first to admit that I forget about Stampin’ Up!’s new blog, well it’s not so new now as it started sometime last year. When you visit my Online Store, you’ll see BLOG as one of the Main Menu tabs. PLEASE visit their BLOG! There are a lot of inspirational ideas, information about the different glues, techniques, product highlights, and so on. When you have a bit of time, peruse through some of the blog post because I bet you’ll find it worth your while!!

Once again, click HERE to see the blog post for not only the card design I CASEd but also to learn why DIY Thank You crafts mean more, find design inspiration, selecting the right supplies, and different ways to say Thank You! It doesn’t have to be a card!

BY THE WAY: When on SU’s Blog, if there is NOT a product name under an image, that the main product is no longer available but you can still use the design layout. I just figured this out! If there is a product name under the image, it’s a link that will take you to that product over on my Online Store, BUT only if you are logged into your account and you’ve selected me to be your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. * Smile *

Alternate Cards

Play around with other color combinations and/or sentiments as I have done here. Who doesn’t need to have some birthday cards on hand? The sentiment stamp is from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit ~ March 2022 Beyond the Horizon! March is the 12th Anniversary of the Paper Pumpkin Subscription. As with every March kit, a FREE stamp set is included giving you a total of two stamp sets! It is Stampin’ Up!’s way of showing appreciation to current subscribers! This ‘Celebrate’ stamp was part my FREE stamp set back in 2022!

NOTE: I use a stamping precision tool when stamping for precise stamping! I use my Stamparatus, which is no longer available for purchase. Before that, I always used my original Misty. Click HERE for more information about the Misty. Believe me when I say, the investment is SO WORTH IT when it comes to precise stamping!!!
