Lots of Joy with FMS206

I LOVE my card and I LOVE this sketch by Linda at Freshly Made Sketches! Plus I just LOVE simple cards! Simple cards are some of the best to make in my opinion. I knew I wanted to use my Lot of Joy Stamp Set for this sketch layout! I hope you like it as much as I do!

Tip: I used the Wishing You Lots and Lots of *Joy* stamp from the Lots of Joy Stamp Set for my little “stars” by coloring just one of the star images with Stampin’ Write Markers in Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey. I also added a star to the top of my tree using this method!

Check out my new table that list the supplies I’ve used to make my project! Just click the product to start your online shopping! How SWEET is this!  LOVE IT!

Video! Plus Paper Pumpkin on a Personal Note

I just subscribed to Paper Pumpkin myself starting in August! Stampin’ Up! (SU) had a promotion for 50% discount for two months with a new subscription to Paper Pumpkin. I knew immediately I was going to FINALLY subscribe to this monthly kit.

I LOVE both of my monthly kits! In the beginning of Paper Pumpkin, I wasn’t that thrilled with the kits (I have to be honest here!). They were okay but I didn’t feel the “OMGoodness I want that” factor! BUT since the beginning of the year, each and every kit has been awesome and have had a WOW! factor to them! I am really happy that I am now a monthly subscriber for the following reasons:

  • I love to craft and each kit is unique!
  • I get a surprise in the mail each month! (I normally don’t like surprises!)
  • I can give my kit(s) as a Birthday gift, a Just Because gift, a Friendship gift, a Christmas gift (See where I’m going with all of this?)
  • I can share and create with a friend!
  • I can have creative fun time with a grandchild, niece or nephew, or ______ (you fill in the blank!)
  • PLUS I can order refill kits or past kits! Now that is awesome! (I plan on ordering September’s Refill Kit, you’ll see why – Look Down, and look down further – video!)

Get Started becoming a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber!

It’s so easy to get started. Simply sign up for the program by clicking HERE. Every month a new, surprise project kit arrives at your doorstep! Just think of the anticipation of creating a fun project to pin, showoff, and share with your friends and family each and every month!

Of course, you’ll want to know more. So here’s the nitty gritty:

  1. Each month, you receive a unique, surprise kit with a project – cards, journals, decor, and more! Everything is color coordinated, measured, and cut for you!! (Time Saver!)
  2. Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, and accessories – everything but adhesive.
  3. Each kit gives you a 30-minute creativity escape.
  4. Kits are shipped on or around the 15th of the month.
  5. You will need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. If you sign up after the 10th, you’ll receive next month’s kit.
  6. A Paper Pumpkin membership is $19.95 per month (shipping is included!).
  7. There is NO COMMITMENT, you can cancel your monthly Paper Pumpkin at anytime!
  8. FYI – You can even skip a month if you want!
  9. Remember as a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can even go back and order refill kits and past kits!
  10. Plus you can do 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, and One year prepaid subscriptions!
    1. 6-month subscription – Save $1 every month with a six month subscription.
    2. 1-year subscription – Save $2 every month with a one year subscription.

Until next time! Have a Fantastic Friday!

Stamp Out Breast Cancer with Paper Pumpkin!

Stampin’ Up! (SU) is going PINK with Paper Pumpkin! For the month of October, the Paper Pumpkin boxes are going to be PINK! This is to show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month AND Stampin’ Up! will make a donation* to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation by doing the following:

  • $1 for every ACTIVE Paper Pumpkin subscriber (that would be me!)
  • PLUS, an additional $1 (that $2’s) for every NEW subscriber – (all my awesome friends, family, and acquaintances who sign up by October 10! – that would be all of you!)
  • FYI – Paper Pumpkin subscribers will determine the amount of the donation!

How You Can Help!

  1. If NEW subscriber, subscribe HERE and be sure to do so by October 10! Your first kit will arrive in the limited-edition PINK box and SU will donate $2 because you are a NEW subscriber!
  2. If you’re a current subscriber, SU will donate $1 for you! But stay active because only those who receive the October shipment will be counted for the donation!
  3. Spread the Word! Share this worthy promotion of Paper Pumpkin to your circle of friends, family, relatives, and acquaintances! Who doesn’t like to craft?! Help us get as many new subscribers as possible. Every current subscriber adds a $1 and for new subscribers it’s $2, so let’s get the word out and raise as much as possible!
  4. Spoiler Alert! Although the October box is PINK, according to SU the project is NOT pink and that is all they are saying! 😉
  5. FYI – When you get your October kit, you will not only be donating to a good cause, but you will also get a limited-edition, pretty PINK Paper Pumpkin box! You do not want to miss it! Promise!

Sheltering Tree Birthday Wishes with FMS205

Once again, I am pushing it to meet a deadline at Freshly Made Sketches! I really need to get on the ball and get ahead of the game here on my end! LOL! Nothing like procrastinating (I think we are all guilty of this) and then scrambling to get something done in time! Plus I just noticed that I overlooked a TINY detail in the sketch. Can you find it? Serves me right for procrastinating! Oh well . . .

I used the Sheltering Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set (#137163 AC p. 89) for this birthday card. I LOVE this set as it has so many possibilities! My sentiment set is the Petite Pairs Stamp Set (WM #128706 or CM #133155 AC p. 78). I get a lot of use with this particular sentiment stamp set. I used Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Mossy Meadow for my inking. I almost forgot to include that I used the Banners Framelits (#132173) for this layout. If you don’t have one, you can always “fussy cut” one. I decided to layer as I think it adds more to the depth of my card. Then I stepped it up by using my Woodgrain Embossing Folder (#127821) on the card base. The ribbon is retired but I really wanted to use this particular ribbon which is 7/16″ Natural Trim Ribbon. I believe my card is simply simple and I like it that way! I hope you like my SWEET CREATION as well! BTW, did you find the detail that I missed?

As I progress as a blogger, I’m sure I will be tweaking my style of blogging and layout to make it better. I hope you hang in there with me as I hope to get better at this! Please be sure to subscribe to my blog!

Holidays are Coming with FMS204

I thought I would participate in another Freshly Made Sketches card challenge! I hope I make the deadline so here it goes! Since the holidays ARE coming, I’m using Lots of Joy Stamp Set (AC p.69 WM #138810 or CM #139468) along with Merry Moments DSP (#138450). My design totally didn’t turn out the way I had planned but that’s okay! Sometimes that happens. Although my original design didn’t work out, I’m pretty happy with my end result! I used Cherry Cobbler and Mossy Meadow for my inking. I stepped it up with Cherry Cobbler Candy Dots (#130932). My CS choices are Crumb Cake and Old Olive. I hope you like my SWEET CREATION!

SU – Stampin’ Up!

DSP – Designer Series Paper

AC – Annual Catalog

CM – Clear Mount

CS – Card Stock

Retired But Not Forgotten – Happiest Birthday Wishes

I entered a card layout challenge last week when I saw this sketch. It had been a LONG time since I had participated in a card challenge (like I’ve done a marathon of them)! All of my SU products I used for my card were retired BUT you can use this layout, as I have, as an inspiration to utilize what you have in your craft room! It’s really so much fun to produce your own card when you have a layout such as this one. I love how this turned out! I also got creative with the ribbon hanging from behind the button and managed to add a third streamer to it! SWEET! I just had a random thought, this embellishment reminds me of those great big football mums that are popular during football homecoming games for the girls! It makes me homesick for Friday Night Football games in Texas! Like I said, a random thought!

FMS Final 202-001

I loved the layout and DSP (Designer Series Paper) so much that I had to make a few more and then I ran out of buttons! So I pulled out my Pansy Punch (#130698) and some Pearls (#119247), which are NOT retired, and changed it up a bit! In hindsight, perhaps I should have changed out the polka dot ribbon banner with a coordinating green card stock (CS) banner in it’s place! Oh well! I still love it!

Tips for Mailing Card with Embellishments:

  • When mailing a card that has certain embellishments, I like to add a layer of cut computer paper (4 x 5 1/4) in front of the card face to protect it inside the envelope.
  • When mailing a card that has a bulky embellishment(s) i.e. large buttons, mail it as NON-MACHINABLE! Postage is just slightly higher. I still add a layer of paper to protect the card front inside the envelope.
  • I have also mailed cards in padded mailing envelopes (which SU retired ours) that had really bulky embellishments. It does cost more but so worth it to protect your card.

My First Post – Showcasing My First Card

We all start somewhere and for me, it began back in June of 2008! I attended my very first Card Club and made this card! Isn’t it SWEET!! I had NO IDEA what in the heck I was doing as everyone around me was producing their cards in a very timely manner! But not me! That’s okay though as I managed with the help of others around me. That’s one thing I love about crafters, they are so enthusiastic about inking, stamping, and crafting; they love to share it with others!

2015.9.12 _my_first_card_2008.6

I was first introduced to Stampin’ Up! that night! I had NEVER heard of Stampin’ Up! (SU) before that night! My husband and I just moved from my home state of Texas to his home state of Illinois on May 12, 2008. Yes, I remember the date! LOL! I always knew one day I’d end up in Illinois when we got older. We lived our first 22 years married in Texas and I suppose we’ll finish our days out in Illinois. One never knows though!! It was difficult leaving my home state of Texas, my family, friends, and relatives all behind! But when I attended my first Stampin’ Up! Card Club as a guest with one of my husband’s relatives, I was HOOKED! I loved inking, stamping, and creating cards not to mention meeting a wonderful group of ladies! I so looked forward to that SU Card Club each and every month. I finally signed up as a SU Demonstrator in March, 2011. I hate to admit that I am my own best customer! LOL!

Please come back to see me here on So Inking Sweet! I’m just getting my feet wet with my Web site. Please excuse any hiccups as I’ve developed this site on my own. If there is a problem, please leave me a comment! Also I hope you’ll subscribe to my blog and head over to my So Inking Sweet FB page and click LIKE! If you’d like to know a little more about me, click “About Me” up on my Top Navigation Bar (at the VERY top of the page)! Until Next Time!

FYI – Shop Now on my Navigation Bar will take you to my SU Online Store. If you don’t see my name up in the top right hand corner then, please let me know. The link has worked every time I have tested it except once it took me to stampinup.com and that’s okay too. You can find me through the Demonstrator Locator there as well.
