I find making masculine cards are a bit of a challenge but this shirt layout makes it a whole lot easier to do so! I’m loving making these shirt cards! I made one for my twin brother’s birthday and at the time, I didn’t have any current Designer Series Paper (DSP)! Click HERE to see Tony’s birthday card and details on how I made it.
Today I’m using this beautiful plaid from Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ DSP stack. BTW, you can SAVE 15% on SELECT DSP’s, including Inked Botanicals through June 30! Click HERE for more details! I love the Pool Party plaid shirt with Lost Lagoon and Basic White stripes. Lost Lagoon has made a come back with this year’s color refresh in our new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. I think it pairs nicely with Pool Party!
I’ve been wanting to make this shirt card with this particular DSP and wouldn’t you know it, The Paper Players challenge site has a “It’s a Man’s World” #PP643 card challenge theme by Ann. Deadline is looming so I had to get busy to get my card made and entered! Be sure to visit their challenge site!
So I made my shirt card but I did the pocket a bit differently than my last one and it doesn’t have a top shirt button, so one less button. Click HERE to see my other shirt card as well as details on how you, too, can make this card! Same layout but a bit different look! You CAN make this card without the dies! Trust me!
Notice the embossed Happy Birthday sentiment from Days to Remember Photopolymer Stamp Set! I stamped the sentiment in Lost Lagoon and quickly applied Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set it with my Heat Tool. I used my stamping tool and did this step, twice. Then I stamped it again with VersaMark Ink and applied the clear embossing powder and set it one last time with my Heat Tool. It turned out great! The buttons are embossed with an embossing folder, any embossing folder with texture will do. The one I used is retired. Once again, see my previous post from May 27. I used Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Marker for my button holes.
Normally, I don’t dress up the inside of my cards but today I thought, why not! I had die cut a pocket from this beautiful plaid patterned paper and then decided to go with a solid colored cardstock, Lost Lagoon. Notice I cut a bit off the pocket and adhered it beneath the inside sentiment, which is also from Days To Remember Photopolymer Stamp Set. Then a left over piece was adhered to the bottom.
