I’m CASEing the catalog with Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper today using a card layout on page 32 from the SEPTEMBER-DECEMBER 2025 MINI CATALOG. Although I love to design my own cards, I also love to find card layouts using my Stampin’ Up! catalogs. You don’t have to be creative to create! We can all CASE (Copy And Share Everything) something exactly how a project is shown or we can put our own spin on it and call it ours, but always give credit where credit is due.
Card Details
My main focal card is “stepped up” so let me start with my BASIC card. The card base is Pretty Peacock cardstock ((8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″) with a layer of Perennial Lavender 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. My DSP layer is cut at 3-3/4″ x 5″ and adhered onto the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. BUT the layout in the catalog, which I’m CASEing is cut at 3-1/2″ x 5″. My mistake but I like how it turned out. With either measurement, you can get 6 panels from one sheet of DSP.
Below is the sheet I used and you can see the design that is on the backside of this DSP. You get 12 sheets in a package, 2 each of 6 double sided designs. You can see EACH sheet individually when you visit my online store! I LOVE that Stampin’ Up! shows a close up of each design. The sentiment is from The Right Words Cling Stamp Set, which is stamped onto Basic White cardstock using Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin’ Ink. The label is cut down to 2-1/4″ x 1-1/16″ but for my stepped up card it measures 1-1/8″. It’s because I stamped the sentiment then I cut the sentiment label down. The label is then glued to Gorgeous Grape cardstock, which is 3″ x 3/4″ and dovetailed by hand. To add dimension, I popped the sentiment label up with Stampin’ Up! Dimensionals.
The Right Words Cling Stamp Set has a lot of useful sentiments, which I really like! I’ve used this stamp set on some of my Paper Pumpkin alternate cards.
Inside Panel Details
The inside panel is Basic White cardstock, cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. As you can see, I didn’t decorate the inside. Honestly, I normally don’t decorate the inside.
Stepped Up Details
As you can see by the main card of my blog post, the card base is Gorgeous Grape cardstock and Pretty Peacock cardstock for the dovetailed piece behind the sentiment label. I Heat Embossed the sentiment by stamping it in Gorgeous Grape Classic Stampin’ Ink and then I stamped it again using VersaMark Ink. Then I applied clear embossing powder from Basics Wow! Embossing Powder (set of 3 powders: white, black, and clear). The embossing powder is set using a Heat Tool. I LOVE Heat Embossing sentiments! It gives it a pop of WOW!
Lastly, I added some beautiful embellishments from the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems using Gorgeous Grape. There are 3 colors to choose from in this package: Berry Burst, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather. Be sure to check them out in the Product Table below! Notice the beveling of the gems?
TIP: Heat Embossing
Be sure to use an Embossing Buddy on cardstock before Heat Embossing. The Embossing Buddy is a small bag of powder and you rub it over your paper before inking and embossing. This ensures the embossing powder stays only where you want it. It comes in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit, which also includes the following: Powder Pal (like a mini dust pan), crafting tweezers (very useful), and a crafting brush to help sweep off any embossing powder if needed.
