Getting Started
Card Sketch #11 is another good layout to showcase patterned paper or in this case, the Reindeer Days Memories & More Card Pack. I think by now you’ve seen how to make a card in three ways: Basic, Stepped Up, and Avid. Starting with Card Sketch #11 and going forward, I may or may not show all three styles. If I do manage to do so, then that’ll be a bonus for us both because honestly sometimes I’m bad with my time management along with other factors that come along in life. Basically, I’m human! LOL!
The holidays are upon us and it’s to be a time to be thankful, which I am each and every day, and a time to be joyful! Basic Card
As you can see my card is very BASIC but yet it’s simply pretty. I used Real Red for my card base (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ | Scored at 4-1/4″). You can use other coordinating colors for the card base: Garden Green and Granny Apple Green. Of course there are more prints and colors in this card pack. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere my card pack pieces to the card front.
Be sure to search both catalogs and the Online Exclusive products for many holiday sentiments! My sentiment stamp is from a previous Paper Pumpkin Kit from October 2017. I had to cut my sentiment label at 1/2″ x 2″ to accommodate the sentiment length. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. TIP: If you are just starting out stamping, I would suggest getting this ink until you can add more colors to your crafting supplies.
Once you have found a sentiment to use with this layout, you can either adhere it directly down onto the card front or pop it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it some dimension.
Stepped Up Card
All I did to step up my card was to add a Basic White cardstock panel cut at 3-1/4″ x 5″ behind the card pack pieces. My card is still clean and simple (CAS). You could add some White Baker’s Twine coiled around and behind the sentiment label or even as a little bow placed above the upper right corner of the label. Another suggestion is to add some embellishments that has some sparkle, such as the Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I’ll add those and some Baker’s Twine to the Product Table.
I prefer having the extra panel behind the card pack pieces because it adds something extra not to mention this Basic White really makes it pop. I hope you like both of my cards today. My main objective is to show that ANYONE can make these cards. If I can do it, you can do it too!
