I hope you’ve missed me as I’ve missed all of you! Our daughter, Tenaya, graduated from law school back on May 9th. We are so very proud of her, which goes without saying! We returned home from Knoxville, TN and I was sick for 2 weeks. It was a bit of a struggle to get back going and get things caught up afterwards. Naturally it being spring/summer time there’s a lot to be done outside. I’ve kept crafting and continued having my monthly “Creating with Kits!” event but I’ve totally dropped the ball on blogging and posting on social media, which is only Facebook at this time.
Inspiration Started with a PPKit Die Cut
Well let’s talk about this card I made for my granddaughter, Theä, who is 10 years old. My hubby and I just had her with us for a visit. We love having her come stay so we can spoil her a bit. I knew I wanted to use the sparkly die cut MISS YOU from June’s Life is Sweet Paper Pumpkin Kit (PPKit) and current and retired product but the main point is to SHARE my card, regardless. I also knew I wanted to use the retired Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper (2018-2019 Annual Catalog p. 190) and die cut those cute little frogs.
So I went with circle dies that measure 2-3/8″ and 2-3/4″ but you could use circle punches as well. Currently you can purchase the 2-3/8″ Circle Punch, which is an Online Exclusive product. For the circle die cuts, I used the retired Framelits Circles Collection but you could check out the Stylish Shaped Dies, which has both circles, squares, and labels! I’d love to have this die set! This is a great layout you can easily replicate! Use your imagination and create!
The coordinating cardstock I used to compliment the retired DSP I used is Shaded Spruce and retired Call Me Clover. By the way, Theä’s favorite color is green so she’ll love her card! The base is Shaded Spruce but I cut another panel and embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front. I used the Bough Punch for the leaves. By the way, that vertical strip of DSP is part of the retired DSP and that’s why I chose Call Me Clover to coordinate with it. The main take away is that you can use my card for inspiration and my card started with me wanting to use the “MISS YOU” die cut from my PPKit!
Product Spotlight
I have many products I love to use but currently these two are items get used a lot! The Bough Punch has a coordinating stamp set, Layering Leaves Stamp Set (Annual Catalog p. 77). This stamp set is photopolymer, which means these are clear stamps that make image placement easy. Be sure to read more about this stamp set online.
What’s Great about Kits?
I’d like to talk about Paper Pumpkin Kits and kits from the Kits Collection, which you can only see in my Stampin’ Up Online Store. These are not in the current catalog. Paper Pumpkin Kits is a monthly subscription or you can purchase prepaid 3-, 6-, or 12-month subscription. You can learn more about Paper Pumpkin Kits by clicking the Paper Pumpkin link located at the top of this blog. If you still need more information, contact me! I’d be glad to help!
Kits, of any kind, are GREAT for BEGINNERS but even we avid crafters love them! You can create the projects as intended or go rogue and do your own thing! Let me list why kits are great:
- Great way to build crafting supplies.
- Great for those with limited crafting space.
- Great for those looking for a hobby but don’t want to spend a lot.
- Great to take on trips and to even share crafting with others.
- Great to give as a gift for those who like to craft.
- Great for a quick way to create something special to send to someone.
