Retired but Not Forgotten! Color Challenge PP270!

I haven’t participate with the Paper Players since 2012! I’m so excited about sharing my card today that meets their challenge of colors: Black + White + Silver or Gold plus one Color of my choice! I chose Silver and Poppy Parade (retired card stock). I made this card for my hubby whom I love so dearly! He is the BEST HUSBAND and my MY BEST FRIEND, whom I love with all my heart and soul! I wanted my card to have some elegance and I think I achieved it.

My title “Retired but Not Forgotten!” has to do with the fact that I used some items that are now retired from Stampin’ Up! BUT you can easily tweak this layout and colors to make it your own! This could also be used as a Valentine’s card or even a Wedding card. I will include “My Recipe” below but first check out the color challenge from the Paper Players!

My Recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Punch Potpourri, Something to Celebrate (both retired Hostess Sets)
  • Card Stock: Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Paperbilities Special Occasion (non SU – sorry!)
  • Ink Colors: StazOn Jet Black
  • Accessories: 3/8″ Whisper Taffeta Ribbon (retired)
  • Tools: Full Heart Punch (retired), Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I used cardstock from Special Occasions that has some elegance to it. The silvery gray paper has a pin-striping affect to it to add some dimension to the bottom half of my card as well as the top heart. I popped the hearts with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the formal look of my card! How about you?

I would love to hear from you! What do you think my card today? Do you think you could replicate it in some way? I bet you can because everyone has a bit of creativity within themselves! I find my inner creativity with the help of card challenges that helps me with layouts and/or color combinations! Like this one from the Paper Player!
